Writer-director Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact) returns to the world of horror once more, and proves that the vision and unique sensibility of that first chiller were no fluke. His follow-up, Home, kicks the terror up a notch or three and results in a scary sophomore effort that weaves three storylines around one haunted house. Leigh, a young estate agent, is sought to sell a home with a chequered past. She crosses paths with a troubled girl whom she learns is the runaway daughter of the people selling the property. When Leigh tries to mediate and help, she becomes entangled with a demonic force that soon has her artist sister Vera in its grasp. Belying its blank-faced title, Home delivers really unsettling imagery and jarring shocks that will definitely freak out even the most jaded horror fan.
