Whānau Mārama: New Zealand International Film Festival 2024 opened to a full house on Wednesday 31 July with the Aotearoa New Zealand Premiere of Josephine Stewart-Te Whiu's electric debut We Were Dangerous.
Stewart-Te Whiu was in attendance with cast members Rima Te Wiata, Erana James and Manaia Hall, alongside producer Polly Fryer and members of the Madman distribution team.
The Opening Night Gala for Wellington was sponsored by Russell McVeagh.
